A brand is a system, not a logo
A logo is the souvenir. The brand is the machine that makes every touchpoint feel like you.
Clients often ask for “a logo.” What they usually need is a brand system: the logo plus the rules that make it work everywhere — type, colour, spacing, voice, and the components those choices produce.
What a system includes
A primary mark and its variants. A type scale. A colour palette with accessible contrast. Spacing and grid rules. Iconography and imagery direction. A short voice guide. Together these let anyone — designer, developer, or the founder posting on a Sunday — produce on-brand work without guessing.
Why order matters
Buy the logo first and you will rebuild it the moment you need a website, a deck, or packaging — because nothing around it was defined. Buy the system first and the logo falls out of it for free, consistent by construction.
Identity is an investment in not paying twice. Start with the system.
